When you were born, you cried while the world rejoiced. Live your life in such a way that when you die, the world cries while you rejoice.
Robin Sharma
Life is uncertain….the other day as I was flicking through TV channels I came across a news item saying 2012 being the year of end of this world. With Global warming taking over the world it’s high time we realize that this will soon lead to make the world a massive ice age. Remember the movie, “The Day after Tomorrow”, which depicts catastrophic effects of Global Warming and Global Cooling. The movie had brought chills down my spine and so did this news.
It is said, “Procrastination is the thief of time”. However our life today is more or less rules by this procrastination. There are many things we wish to do but somehow they are passed on to tomorrow because of our commitments to the world which need to be fulfilled today. Have we ever thought how much this world cares for us? And how much will it bother others, when we breathe our last.
Life gives us a lot of opportunities….but we don’t make use of them. As a quote from A. POWELL DAVIES says”Life is just a chance to grow a soul.”Our life in itself is a learning experience. What we do today becomes a lesson tomorrow. It is said,” The philosophy of one generation is the common sense of the next.” (src: orkut) Learning helps us grow as a person and make us to be a better human being.
However this learning somehow is not given the required importance after a certain age. We get so much involved in family, jobs and the like that we hardly ever think of our dreams and ambitions. Please don’t get me wrong, I am not blaming the family, nor am I talking about ignoring responsibilities. I am just talking about involving yourself into your list of priorities. This is something many of us can’t seem to do. And while taking so much are of other things we somewhere forget to dream.
Dreams sometimes become the mirrors to our souls. They express our unfulfilled desires. When we stop dreaming it’s as if we have stopped communicating with ourselves. Our soul this way is just left to itself, lonely and disappointed. Remember, “Shahid Kapur in Jab We Met.” He had given up on his singing on being showered with responsibilities. And thus we saw his character was unhappy and depressed.
Dreaming is not only about you. It’s about others too. Living forever is all about leaving a legacy. (Robin Sharma).
We can’t predict tomorrow. But today is in our hands and we can definitely make the most of it. And it is important to make the most of today. This is all about enjoying what you do and having a perfect day. Living as if there is no tomorrow. As ABRAHAM LINCOLN put it “And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”
🙂 Good Luck
heyy..why don’t you write more often ?
thanks for your comment on your blog..always good know, someone appreciates the random ramblings 🙂
oops..i mean “thanks for your comment on my blog”
This is perhaps too tricky a topic to touch upon…….given it’s propensity to elicit some of the most fiesty debates…….i dont think this topic is about the end of the world…….wether that happens in 2012,2050 or perhaps in the next century………or wether we have time for ourselves outside our daily responsibilities……….
You’ve placed the issue of responsibilities withering our dreams/ lives a much larger perspecive…….i personally find myself mindlessly complying to your words………and hence the topic alongwith it. however, a little bolt from the blue and u tend to realise the needs of our time.
We live in times when the threat of global warming is degrading our environment to a point of complete mortal extinction………when we’re faced with the biggest financial crisis this world has ever seen…..bigger than the great depression of 1932. I quote these 2 examples amongst other socio-economic and political symptoms of one simple malady.
All of this is the root cause of letting our ambitions get the better of ourselves. A time will come when this world will react to the complete mismanagement of our responsibilities. At the cost of our dreams, progress, convinience or survival. That day will be the last blessed day we will live to see in this world
It could be today. It could be tommorow. 2050 or whatever number u’d like to emboss on it.
ohh yess………u could do with journalsim too! lol……..you certainly have a long way to go but I know a writer when i read one. Good job!!! Indeed privileged to read and comment. Godbless and CHEERS(to the fact that everytime these scientsts think it’s d end of the world, the opposite happens)!!!
